So I think I mentioned in an earlier post that I got into Black Crusade at my FLGS. An issue we have come across lately is that every Black Crusade Core Book that somebody buys starts falling apart within 2-3 days of them buying it. This is a picture taken on day 2... I have a lot of experience with their products, and no other time have I had this happen to them, and the other books that we got in the same shipment are perfectly fine. So I e-mailed them, and the told me to fill out a part replacement form for the whole book and to include pictures, and they would replace the whole thing! It's game companies like that which I really enjoying giving my business to. They could have told me to get lost, or to glue it, or whatever, but they instead where VERY easy and pleasant to deal with, which is a huge relief. Anyways, here are some more pictures below of what it looks like.
So yeah, only held together by the threads. It's still usable for now, but it's just odd that it only happened to the Black Crusade Core Rulebooks in our group specifically. All of our Death Watch books are fine. Maybe it's just the Emperor getting revenge or something, who knows.
Anyways, on to other topics, all the Chaos leaks that were dropped on Faeit 212 last night have me giddy as a school girl! In case you missed them, here is a link: CLICK ME!!!! While nothing jumps out as terribly broken, or overly powerful, what it comes across as in my opinion is a Codex that will give you more options that you know what to do with! It'll let me build my Death Guard army the way it should be built, as well as start a Word Bearers army that will fit the fluff as well.
And mentioning the Word Bearers, I plan on starting a large Daemons force as well to supplement them! I'll buy the Plaguebearers regardless, just to go with the Death Guard, but all the other stuff I plan on having to use with the Word Bearers as I see fit. I also plan on making the Gal Vorbak for the army. For those of you with no idea what that is, it is the group from the Word Bearers who where the first to become possessed! It will fit the fluff nicely, and I think that the red and black power armor will look nice in the same army and the dark red and silver. It's always nice when you don't have a block of dudes that look exactly alike, making the whole army monotone in general appearance.
But enough of that, it's late so I am off for the night. If anyone has any great ideas about Word Bearers, I am still in the planning phase so I would love to hear them. Take care and good night!
Ah, but you see, that's a FEATURE. The books falling apart are a homage to the questionably-assembled GW books of yore. :)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing what you come up with for the Word Bearers and Death Guard, I'm quite jazzed about the new daemon plastics.
As far as Word Bearers ideas, I definitely recommend reading through the Tempus Fugitives Age of the Emperor expansion. There's some neat stuff in there that might spark some interest!

Cheers!
Thanks man, I'll have to check it out! I reread The First Heretic and Know No Fear, and I'm going thruogh the Word Bearers Omnibus again, so we'll see what I come up with. I'm trying to finish up some Dust models to clear space on my work station for all this Chaos goodness, so I'm rushing through some new weathering techniques, but the thoughts of Chaos keeps me going!
