Command Barge finished and Thousand Sons update

So as this picture shows, I finished the model (not including the Overlord, obviously).  I cleaned up the actual Necrons, airbrushed some half-assed object source lighting on them (first attempt at such a thing, needs work, but not too shabby for about 1 minute of work total), and then based the model in my snow theme.  As I haven't worked with model snow before, I kept it rather simple, no rocks or anything other than the dark grey basing material under the snow itself.  Check below for more pics and other delightful tidbits of information!

Necron test model turned out snazzy!

So yes, I haven't posted in a while, but I have plenty of excuses:
  1. I have been busy with taking finals.  5 classes for a Computer Engineering degree is not easy, and in fact, is very time consuming.
  2. Star Wars: The Old Republic came out, and my friends decided that I should run our guild.  Our name is <Death Star Glee Club>, and we're on Kinrath Spider.  If you haven't had a chance to play the game, then you probably still have a life.
  3. The holidays!  Christmas shopping, wrapping presents, lots of parties and "get togethers".  And booze.  Lots of it.
  4. My dog ate my homework?  I dunno.
So there we have it, my bullshit list of excuses!  However, I did jump into the world of airbrushing (well, for something other than base coating that is), and this is what turned up.  This will be the color scheme of my Necrons, whenever I get around to them.  After the holidays, it's crunch time on the Thousand Sons, so the metal bad asses will have to wait >.<  Anyways, as usual, more pictures below!

I love winning things on the internet, and you could too!

So, thanks to Santa Cruz Warhammer, I have again won something on the Internet!  This time I managed to snag a new Archeo-Tech Obelisk from the guys over at Secret Weapon Miniatures (who as many may know, I already love).  Mr. Justin makes an excellent product, and he gives all current and prior military veterans a 10% discount, so I stand behind their product 110% !!!  "But how do I win cool prizes on the Internet?" You may ask.  Well, check out below to find out!

Thousand Sons update!

So I got my heads in over the week, finally (now if only my FLGS would get in the rest of the legs...grrrr.  Week 6 and counting).  They look pretty good, and I am planning on using the different head styles that I got to differentiate between squad types.  Pictured above is what I chose for Librarians and/or special characters.  Haven't decided yet.  I like the head though.  Check out below for more pictures of the different heads in use, as well as my Caestus with a little more paint on it.

So, yeah...

I have been deathly ill and in bed since Monday, so I apologize for not getting anything at all done.  Hopefully, this picture of a scratch built Venom strapped with 2 M-80's makes up for it.  This was my going away gift when I moved from Kentucky.  The owner of my FLGS knew that the owner of this model and I weren't on "speaking terms," and he left this model at the store and never came back, so he let me blow it up!  Anyways, I received the heads for all of my regular Thousand Sons models in the mail from Poland earlier this week, and while they look AMAZING, I haven't had the energy to put them on.  Something about sleeping 20+ hours a day and taking IV's of NyQuil will do that to you.  However, I am feeling somewhat better, so after I catch back up on my house, which is now dirty since I usually clean it while my wife works 9-12 hour days, and after I make a guild website for my friends WoW guild, I will put those heads on and take pictures!  Hopefully the special "Egyptian" themed sci-fi heads will come in from Kromlech some time soon, considering it's been almost a month now.  Also, I have my Necron Command Barge put together in 12 pieces and primed, so hopefully I can airbrush that sexy monster quickly and get pictures of it up here as well.  Until then though, I'm going to drown this flu.

Sunday Hangovers...

So this is basically all I actually got done this weekend...FML.  I was busy yesterday with a birthday celebration for my wife's friend.  It was going to be at a bowling alley, so I thought it wouldn't be that crazy, except it turned out that the bowling alley was on the third floor of a nightclub.  Needless to say, I got drunk.  Very drunk in fact.  Now I have no motivation to do any modeling or painting today.  I just want ice cold water.  But here is how the water effect came out with the darker color over the lighter one.  Kind of a cool effect, but not one I will probably mimic on the other two.  I don't know how I really feel about it yet to be honest.

Blight Drone done and the table continues!

So the water effect has almost finished drying now, and I'm pretty sure I used a shade or two too bright...FML.  Oh well, it works, and I have two more to mess with.  I'll get it right next time...I think.  Anyways, I got my airbrush parts in today, as well as all the terrain kits I ordered off of the eBay!  It's actually a lot more terrain than I thought it would be, so this should be "fun."  Anyways, as always, check below for more of the "good stuff."

Chaos WIP!!!

So I continued work on one of my three Blight Drones...after it's been sitting idle since July or so.  I have the body mostly done now, just need to work on the base, as well as the flying stand, both of which will have my water effect ooze that I used on the Demon Prince of Nurgle I did.  Should be pretty snazzy when I am done.  There was a tirade by me originally as well, but that has been removed because I feel petty for posting it.  Sorry for anyone who read it, that was somewhat out of character for me.  I may have been drinking....heavily.  Anyways, check out below and whatnot.

Aaargh2D2 and some charity info!

So, this weekend I didn't really get any of what I wanted accomplished, but I did manage do do a few things at least.  This model is Aaargh2D2, made by Scibor, and when I purchased all my "Egyptian" weapons from them, they were nice enough to send me this model for free!  I read a post by Goatboy in which he talked about how he didn't have any models for himself to paint at the time, and that he was in a rut, so I made a comment about how I like to switch it up every now and then, and just paint something random for the fun of it.  So after saying that, I realized that I hadn't painted anything for the hell of it in a while, and painted this fun model up.  Anyways, check out below for some info on what is shaping out to be an awesome charity, as well as another Ork model I am working on, and a story about having Ogre strength and airbrushes.

Contemptors, oh how I love thee!

So, as the picture above shows, I have finished Contemptors number 2 and 3 (so named for the markings on their shoulder and knees, a 2 and a 3 respectively).  All three have different poses, and will look even more sexy once I have all the different weapon arms painted... all 19 different ones.  Yeah, that will be fun.   Anyways, check below for more pictures of numbers 2 and 3, as well as a few shots of terrain and my table as it stands (or lays I guess).

Terrain update

So I will start this out by pointing out that my post with this as a WIP, as well as my Draigo counts as, got nods from both Santa Cruz Warhammer and From The Warp, so thanks guys for noticing!  The tower is now mostly done, and although I had a very rough weekend, I managed to at least knock out some very basic terrain as well.  Hopefully this week I'll manage to get to my FLGS and buy the last terrain I will need so I can make some more headway on this table, but if not I guess I'll just have to wait until payday...FML.  Anyway, check out below for a few more pics of some terrain I half-assed this weekend!

Librarian fixed and a WIP update

So I decided I wasn't happy with how I had the Librarian's sword, so I rummaged through my bits box and found a Staff that Kromlech had sent to me for free when I bought the Jetbikes off of them.  I like this look a lot more, as it is different from everything else in the army, yet it still fits the overall design.  Anyways, below you will find another shot of the Librarian, my Contemptor Dread arm collection, and my built (minus heads, of course) purifier squads.

Draigo and friends!

So I now have my counts-as Draigo done, and he is the beauty pictured above!  I really like the bits I got from Scibor, as they really help to add that Egyptian feel to the army.  I also worked on some of the other models in my soon to be built army, and even my ruined tower.  However, I ended up with a Diablo III Beta invite, so my progress has been slowed somewhat.  Anyhow, check below for even more pics of what I have put together so far.

My first Contemptor Dread, and Table part 2

So my table is coming along now at a slower pace.  I have the basic layout done, and before I can do much more, I need to get all the terrain secured on the table.  With that said, I have a continuation of the step-by-step for the board, some pictures of more terrain I am working on for it, as well as some pictures of how my first Contemptor Dread is coming along!

Table update time!

Okay, so I have most of materials for this table now, and I started the basic construction of it yesterday.  It's going to be loosely themed around Prospero, so I am going with a kind of modern Cairo look to it, with some magical doodads around every here and there.  It's going to be ruined to fit in with right after the Space Puppies bombed the shit out of the place.  I figured I would do this as a step by step process for all of you faithful readers to follow along with!

Small birthday update!

So as you can see here, my wonderful wife got me an excellent display case from Ikea!  At only $65, it is the best value out there.  I was very prompt in putting it together and filling it up, and I honestly might go buy a second one next weekend because it didn't hold as many models as I though (probably because of the titans and super heavies, but oh well).  I also got more than enough money from friends and family to buy a new airbrush and tank, so that was ordered last night so my painting should actually get somewhere these days!  Click on though to see close ups of each shelf, as well as some other things I forgot to include in my last post.

Finally getting started!

So I am now finally getting under way with this new army.  Most of my stuff has come in, but I am still waiting for the weapons from Scibor (my FLGS told me they couldn't get them for some reason...three weeks after I placed the order, so I had to order direct, which sucks by the way) as well as some pieces I decided to just get directly from Forge World instead of eBay, mostly because none of what I needed was on eBay at the moment.  Anyways, read on for more of how this project is evolving!

New plans!!!!

This picture here, found on DakkaDakka at this link, is of a Scarab Occult Terminator of the Pre-Heresy Thousand Sons, made by a genius known simply as Proiteus.  He has done some amazing conversions in the past, whole armies of them in fact, and I like the route he is taking with his army.  As I had mentioned many many moons ago, I want to do a Pre-Heresy Thousand Sons, and he has inspired me to do so myself!  This will be no simple venture, and the $600 I have spent today alone on models and bits from around the interwebs is a testament to that.  Check below to see what I have planned!

Dream Forge Games wants you!

If you haven't heard of this company, you need to check them out.  They make some amazing titan-esque models. and they are a relatively new company who needs some "investors" of sorts.  Long story short, they have a KickStarter set up, and if you donate money, you get models!  They have a tiered system set up, so the more you give, the more you get.  And what you get is really very cheap money wise!  Check them out if you get a chance at their website:

http://dreamforge-games.com/

Their blog:

http://dreamforge-games.blogspot.com/

Their KickStarter:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dreamforge-games/dreamforge-games-project-eisenkern-32mm-miniatures

These really are AMAZING models, and I can see them being proxied for some cool IG, Ad Mech, or other things if you can get crazy enough with it!  Even if you don't like what they have to offer, donate a few dollars where possible to help out a small company!

More Nurgle goodness!

So I have been taking a break from the Warhound to get some more stuff done in my gigantic pile of grey mini's.  I've carried forward the momentum I have been building with Nurgle, however, and I have started working on some of my demons, as well as trying to finish the first squad of Death Guard assault termies I started like 5 months ago, haha.  I have also bought a bottle of water effect and started playing with that new toy!  Check out below for more pics!

Titan is nearing completion!

So as the title says, I am moving right along with this creature!  All I have left is the arms (which I have magnetized) and the base, which I will pin the Titan on but not glue so I can use him in games without a giant diorama base in the way.  Check below for a sort of three stage picture of the top shell, as well as photos of the inside of the head!

40k lore in about a minute!

Haha, this video was posted on Space Marine's Facebook page.  I got a little chuckle out of it, so Enjoy!

GW crushed my inner Necron this weekend...

So I think I'm not alone when I say that I am disappointed that not a single shred of info on Necrons came out at Games Day last weekend.  I have been saving what little money I can in anticipation for them, but GW keeps beating me with the secrecy stick.  Stupid GW....anyways, at least a few cool things came out of the Forge World side of the world over the last week, and I am just a bit more than excited for the new edition of Apocalypse.  While I did love the last edition, it had many flaws to it that we had to house rule to death to enjoy, so I am anxious to see what they cooked up for us with this one.  They also have info on Chaos Contemptor Dreadnoughts in there, and I swear to God that if they gave it Berserk I am going to openly weep.  Also, their announcement that IA 12 will no longer involve DE but instead Chaos and IG has me at odds.  While as a Chaos player I am unbelievably happy to see this, I do think that the DE need some more love than just the little sprinkling they have got from FW so far.

Okay, here is the Titan atleast (pic heavy)

So I have the body of this beast done for the most part now.  I need some minor touch ups and some wires need painting still on the outside, but it is certainly coming along well.  Up next I will be working on the head and the cables that attach to it, then the whole top part will come next, followed finally by the three weapon arms.  The legs are going to be pinned to the base, but not glued so that I can have it displayed nicely, but also take it of the base for Apoc games.  Look below for more pictures of the inside, as well as some Deathguard Termie's I have been working on!

Okay! So it has been a lot longer than I said...

First, I want to start by stating that it seems most of my post titles are apologetic these days.  I don't know why.  Well, I do know why, but I don't wish them all to be.  I just feel a sort of remorse about not posting more.  It has been CRAZY here though.  I finally got moved in to my new place, got everything unpacked, and I am starting to get settled.  This has taken A LOT longer than anticipated due to the fact that I also started school again a few weeks ago...after an 8 year break.  And let me tell you all out there, being a 26 year old Freshman sucks.  I think of most people in my classes as children, and in most cases, I am actually closer to my professors ages than my fellow students.  Weird.

I WON A HEROES OF ARMAGEDDON ARMY!!!!!!!!

So as the title says, I somehow had Gork & Mork shining down on me, because I won this AMAZING army from the Heroes of Armageddon project!  I was so happy I started jumping around when they said my name on the like video broadcast of it all, and I still am shaking.  I will have pictures up as this all comes in, and I wish I could be at Gamesday.  Unfortunately, I can't make it because of my on going move here :(  So I guess I will sit here staring at the mail box until then.  Thanks to everyone who contributed to this amazing army, as well as this awesome project.  After all said and done, HoA managed to make something like $31,057 for Doctors without Borders, which is an amazing charity group.  I'm going to call everyone of my gamer friends now and brag, so take care everyone!

Still not setup here...

So, as the post says, I am still not set up yet.  I am staying at my mother in-laws house until I close on my house here, which keeps hitting snags, so I have been unable to do anything substantial since most of my stuff is still in my bags.  Let me tell you, my teeth are itching to get at my plastic crack.  I have put together one full squad of the Forge World Plague Marines, and I have started on my second, but it is going slow since I have to unpack everything to start, set up on the kitchen table, and set aside time before I go to sleep to clean it all up and pack up again.  As this describes, it leaves me maybe an hour or two a night on the weekdays to mess around with my plastic dudesmen.  However, as I have heard, this is a HUGE gaming community.  One store I went to claims to have around 100 40k players.  I have yet to see this, but then again I have yet to go at night when everyone is supposed to be there, and also since I live about 45 minutes outside of town...

On that note, the only down side is that I am used to very friendly and chatty store owners.  In Kentucky, the community of gamers is very small, so the game store owners try their best to keep people there.  Here though, it seems, they have so many gamers that you are on your own.  I was talking to one owner about the community, trying to figure out how many people play, what they play, when they play, etc, and it was like I was trying to pull his teeth.  Lord forbid I interrupt him reading his comic to get information on his business.  But I guess I technically am some nobody who has never came to his store, so whatever.  I am hoping that I meet new people here and that the first experience is a limited one.  We will see in time.  Anyways, I will try to get pictures up as soon as I can, and when I close on my house and get my new Man Cave set up, I'll throw up some pictures of what work I have been able to squeeze out.

Last minute pictures

So, I managed to snag two pretty terrible pictures of what I have put together and primed of my Nurgle army.  Keep in mind, I still have six 10 man squads of plague marines to put together, as well as two ten man raptor squads which I will be making using Forge World Plague Marine bodies/shoulder pads, as well as some "Heresy Era" jump packs from either Chapter House Micro Art Studios.  I can't remember which.  I have two Blight Drones put together so far, with 3 more still in the bags.  There is a Nurgle Demon Prince and Herald primed in there, the two different Nurgle variant dreads, some chaos bikers with Plague Marine bodies, some Plague Ogryn, Renegrade Ogryn, a Nurgle Space Marine Sorcerer (with two more still in the bags, although I will green stuff them so I don't have triplets), a 5 man Terminator squad, also Forge World, and finally two Land Raiders and a Predator, all with Forge World upgrades.

Update on the run!

While I am not normally one to throw rumors out there, I love the way this one sounds so I am going to play devils advocate and throw this out there.  The Back 40k had some amazing rumors on the direction GW is taking with 6th Edition, which I hope truly turn out, and some disparaging one's about GW's already controversial business model.  I can't say that I am too surprised with GW's moves to further lock down the global market selling of their product, because with their last changes it showed how ruthlessly adamant they were about doing this.  I was however hoping that they would have looked at all the criticism and hatred from independent retailers and gamers and thought about it, but I guess not.  As for me, I will finally be moving to Colorado this weekend, so I have been out of control busy with the preparations.  If I get time, however, I will try to throw up some pics of all the Forge World goodness I got in the mail last week.  I spent well over $500 on models, so my Death Guard army is going to be out of control once I paint it.  Anyways, I am off to more pointless meetings in my attempts to get out of the army, so wish me luck!

Sorry for the delay

So it's been a while since my last post, and let me tell you, I have been BUSY!  Not with the hobby as much as I have wanted, but with real life issues this time.  I got my orders saying I am being medically retired from the Army last week, so I have been scrambling trying to get my stuff packed and moved to Colorado.  It's been chaotic to say the least.  On the plus side though, I will be getting paid for the rest of my life, so yay me.  Anyways, check out below to see what I have been up to since we last spoke.

Plaguereaper of Nurgle WIP update!!!

So as mentioned in my last post, I have been working on my conversion of a Plaguereaper of Nurgle out of the Apocalypse book.  Since I have been doing this whole Death Guard army for shits and giggles, I figured I would convert one of these up to see what I could do with the idea.  Click below for more pics and some discussion on this conversion.

The state of things

So I have been really busy as of late, and with the Titan legs mostly done, I decided to take a break from the Titan for one week.  The week has been very busy though, and not wasted.  Below is a list of projects I have started, in now real order, and I think that the list goes along with my blog name really well!

FLGS support

So, I didn't mention this is my earlier post because I feel it needs it's own space on my blog.  I have recently began a blog for my local FLGS, Hard Knox Games, and it will be a collective blog about all things gaming, from card games to RPG's, and of course my favorite, Wargaming.  It won't be a WIP blog lik ethe one I run here, and I will be having other people contribute as well.

We plan on talking about new products that are out and coming out, as well as showing off pics of models, armies, and terrain made by our local games.  We also plan to be posting battel reports, as well as lists and deck builds for all the games we carry.  All said and done, it will be a very large effort, but it will hopefully set us up as the premier shop in the area, and with our local gamers being able to write for it, will hopefully make people feel more connected to our store.  If you have time, please check it out and follow the blog, or feel free to comment on what you think our store blog should have that others don't.  Anyways, thanks for the time and enjoy my titan work in progress!

Warhound Titan legs done after some mishaps...

So yes, it only took me a few weeks to do the legs properly, but they are done finally.  For those of you not tracking, I am doing a heavily Forge World filled Nurgle army for shits and giggles, so this is the center piece.  That little fact also adds some sense as to what's with all the rust.  Now you know.  But read below for more pics, and the story about how I almost went ape-shit on Army Painter!

Chaos Warhound Titan legs 75% done!

So as the title of this post states, these legs are coming along amazingly!  I have all the base colors on, as well as a lot of the painted weathering and the wash/glaze.  While this is the majority of the work for most people, I'll be using a wide variety of my now massive weathering pigment collection to weather not only rust spots, but grease stains in the joints and pistons, dirt and grime on EVERY bolt, and dirt and mud around the toes.  Check out below to see more pics as the painting progressed on this part of my project!

Titan base mostly done!

So as you can see from this post, I have been working hard on the base for this monster of a model.  I feel that with the detail of the Chaos Warhound Titan, I need to try to match it with a equally impressive base.  While not entirely done, check below to see how it is coming along!

Warhound update!!!

So with all the parts washed of their mold release, and assembled as far as they will be until they are painted, I have started the arduous task of painting this beast!  So far I have painted the legs silver, washed them twice, and stared at it for a good long while trying to figure out what shade of green to paint the armor plates.  Check below for pics of the legs and more info on this base pictured!

The Warhound is getting somewhere (finally)

So I have the Chaos Warhound Titan put together in the pieces I will paint it in, so after the water dries off, we'll be good to prime and base paint!  I glued together the parts before cleaning, which is normally the opposite of what I do, because I was worried of losing all the pistons in the sink.  I would have washed it in a bowl, but I don't have one big enough to fit the whole leg assembly in it, hehe.  Anyways, I also screwed around with weathering pigments this morning, and I like how they came out for a first attempt.  Look below to see more of the groups I will be painting in, as well as my models from this morning!

State of the union (And by union, I mean Chaos)

So, the Chaos Warhound Titan came in yesterday, and along with it was a Forgeworld Iron Warriors Dreadnaught with a Chaos Plasma Cannon and a Chaos Chain Fist.  Needless to say, I was happier than a pig in shit.  So, as I work on cleaning off all of the shit attached to the pieces of the Titan, I began wondering about how I am going to paint the pieces.  The conclusion I came to is that it will be in SEVERAL pieces, then green stuff so there are 0 gaps, then painted, then matte varnished, then glued together, then touched up, then matte varnished, then weeped over in tears of joy.  The other thing I will be trying is weathering powder.  Being from the dark side of the playground, and given the Nurgle theme of my army I am building to showcase with this bad boy, they shall be rust!!!  However, I have never worked with weathering powder, so I need help.  If anyone out there could tell me a good way of achieving rust effects using weathering powders without over doing it, I would be greatly appreciative.  I'm not weathering EVERY piece of metal, but there are some spots that are prime candidates for it, and on a piece of this size, I want it work out right.  So, any help would be much appreciated.  Also, I plan to get pics up of the pieces as I get them into the groups I will be painting them in, as well as the Death Guard termi's.  On order as well are some Blight Drones, some FW plague marine upgrades, and a Death Guard Dread.  Also on ebay, I purchased a Nurgle Dread and a Nurgle Chaos Marine Sorceror.  Should be fun.  Anyways, I'm off to the Doctor's and then I have some dremeling and sanding to do, so I bid you all a fair well.  And remember, HELP ME WEATHER!!!!!

Typhus based and Death Company Dread WIP update

So I based Typhus a little better, added some dark flock and a few pieces of stick.  Not too shabby if I say so myself.  I'm going to go about painting the other nurgle models slightly differently, but that's the story of painting a new scheme, you learn your lessons and adjust.  As for the Blood Angels Death Company Dreadnaught, I got a decent amount of work done on that today, so look below for more pictures!

Typhus is done...mostly

So I picked up this model Thursday and it drove me to paint non-stop for the last two nights.  Here is where I stand on it.  It is about 99% done, had an issue where the mat varnish sprayed grey shit all over the model, so I have to fix that now, and I need to fix the basing a bit more once it's fully dry.  Other than that however, it's done.  Check below for some more pics!

And now for something different!

So, a few posts back I mentioned the Blood Angels idea I had, and after working on some of the models, I now have pics to put up!  Keep in mind that most of these are works in progress, and all I have done for the most part is the base color, a wash, and a dry brush.  A little detail is done on the dread, but other than that, nothing else has really been done.  And now for your face hole pleasure, here are some pics!

So, the E-bay Gods are kind!

So I nonchalantly bid on a brand new, still in the FW bags Chaos Warhound Titan with three weapon arms included, still in bags as well...and won somehow.  I ended up only paying $350 plus S&H, which is a HUGE deal, so I am stoked about that.  My wife isn't though.  Anyways, the seller also said that since I paid immediately that they were sending me a FW Chaos Dreadnought (they didn't specify which one, but beggars can't be choosers) with arms for free, so that is EPIC!  So once I get that, I will start a series of step by steps on me painting it and putting it together, so hooray for a new project while I have all my other unfinished ones!  And you people thought the name of my blog was a joke.  Until next time, I hope all you imaginary friends are safe...and that you stop telling me to do bad things.

So, it's been a while, and I meant to call...

So, I'm not going to lie here... I got sucked back into the MMO world with Rift.  But now that I am level capped, and my OCD/ADHD has been satisfied, I am back to my long ignored models!  I have been very busy with my plastic toys lately, so here is an update that will hopefully not be too long winded.

Set backs suck...

So to all of you out there waiting to see an update on the Dias, I have to apologize because I have been sick and unable to work on it.  However, I'm gonna try to man up tonight and get some work done on painting it, and hopefully get some rough pics of it up with atleast the base colors on.  No promises however.

Update on the Dias of Destruction!!!!

So, now that John from The Autoforge is back from Rhode Island, I have him back to working his skin off for me to get this Dias of Destruction done.  All I can say after seeing it tonight is one word: EPIC!  He added sails to the back, as well as bulked it out a little bit more with some Dark Eldar bits of goodness thrown here and there.  Also, he make intact's for the engines out of plasticard, which came out amazingly.  Anyways, take a look  below to see how amazing epic this thing is coming along.  I CANNOT wait to get this bad boy painted!

Dias of Destruction WIP coming along!

So, my buddy John from the blog The Autoforge has been working on a conversion of Vect and his Dias of Destruction for me for a few days now, and it is coming out so well I felt the need to throw pics up.  The concept is basically a Ravager and a Eldar Fire Prism combined, with the Ravager over the Raider so that I could get 3 Dark Lances for it (as well as increase my horde of DE bits :D ) and the Fire Prism so that he could use the turret to widen out the Ravager body a bit.  Also on the plus side is that there are so many extra bits left over from the Fire Prism that he will be attempting a DE flier conversion after he finishes the Dias.  For the crew, we felt that regular Kabalite Warriors just wouldn't cut it for somebody of Vect's stature, so I got John to convert up some Incubi to man the Dias.  Those fella's came out great, as you will see shortly.  And since Vect doesn't just sit on his Dias all day (unless you get a horrific first turn and he dies, or you're just plain crazy), we needed a dismounted version of him.  So without rambling TOO much more, here is what we have come up with so far:

The weather is in my favor for once!

So I was expecting all my new and shiny Dark Eldar to arrive this friday, since GW is dropping the Stormraven and the Furioso Dread this weekend.  However, I got a text from my local FLGS that it arrived early due to GW anticipating shipping delays due to this weather.  So lucky me, I got to pick up my huge order early.  This is going to be my main focus for the next few weeks to be sure, and just to give you an idea of what's ahead, here is a list of what I got today:

Where I stand on projects...

Okay, to catch everybody up to where I stand currently, I have taken pictures today of what I have been working on as of late.  Currently I have a WFB Chaos Daemons army, a Tyranid army, and I will be starting up a sizable Dark Eldar army when it all gets here Friday.  My Tyranid list is MC heavy, and I think they are the focal point of the army, at least visually, so I have been working on them primarily, as the little guys will be "easy" to knock out in an assembly line after I get the paint scheme fine tuned.  So without much more talking here goes.

To start this off

Here is a Skaven Doomwheel that I bought back when it came out, seeing the Hamster wheel of doom and INSTANTLY wanting to paint it.  I spent a decent amount of time working on it, and ended up selling it shortly after I finished painting it.  I followed the advice of the GW 'Eavy Metal team with how to do the wood panels on the wheels, which came out AMAZINGLY.  Anyhow, without further ado, the pics:

SO...

I've been meaning to start my own blog for all my Wargaming endeavors, and after helping a friend of mine manage his page a bit, I have decided to start my own!  The main focus of this will be on my painting and things of that nature, but I expect to get off topic every now and then, true to my blog name!
